This
30-hour module provides teachers with the basic knowledge of Action Research
introducing the PEPP&ER Framework as the professional development
approach in ITE. It focuses on the acquisition of the skills of enquiry
and reflection leading to the application of these skills in the
development of action research plan using the PEPP&ER Enquiry Guide.
At the end of this module, participants should be able
to:

topic traces the development of Action Research beginning with the
concept of Teacher as Researcher and provides participants with the
knowledge of how Action Research is carried out by practitioners to

PEPP&ER Framework in Action Research

This
topic introduces PEPP&ER as the Action Research Framework in ITE to
enable participants to inquire systematically into their respective
practice with the view to improve it. The emphasis is on the key
elements of the framework that would engage participants in critical,
reflective and creative thinking and the effective use of an Enquiry
Guide to develop an action research plan.

Creation and Sharing of Professional Knowledge

This
topic gives an overview of Innovation and Learning Circles (ILCs) that
have made use of the PEPP&ER Framework and examines their work from
the perspective of teacher as researchers. The following topics will be
covered:
Development
of Innovation and Learning Circles in ITE;
Case-studies
of ILC projects that have facilitated the professional growth and
development of members; and
Capturing
and sharing the action research experience and professional
knowledge.
